What we collect
WedZilla stores your wedding planning data—including wedding details, guest list, budget, vendors, payment schedules, checklist, and quote details extracted by the scanner—with your signed-in account. A local device cache is also used so your plan is available quickly and while you are offline. This data is never shared or sold.
When you create an account we collect:
- Your email address and hashed password, or OAuth identity via Google or Apple
- Basic account metadata, such as account ID and sign-up date
AI features and data
WedZilla uses artificial intelligence in the optional features below. Before first use of each feature, WedZilla explains which data will be sent to OpenAI and asks for your permission.
- Quote Scanner: when you upload a quote image or PDF, it is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o vision API for extraction. The document is transmitted securely. WedZilla does not use your documents to train its own AI models; OpenAI processes them under its API privacy and data-processing terms.
- Sandra AI: your messages and relevant details from your own wedding plan are sent to OpenAI's API so responses can reflect your date, venue, budget progress, guest count, vendors, and checklist progress. Sandra conversations are retained with your signed-in account so she can remember earlier chats, and remain there until you clear that history.
Sandra is limited to wedding planning and related topics. If a message suggests emotional distress or thoughts of self-harm, Sandra is designed to respond supportively and point toward trusted people, crisis resources, or local emergency services rather than attempting to provide mental health support herself.
We send only the wedding-planning details needed for the AI feature you choose to use. We do not sell this information or use it to mix one account's wedding details into another account's responses.
Authentication
Account authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party identity service. Clerk stores your email and credentials securely. We do not have access to your raw password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, only your name and email are shared with us.
Data storage
Your wedding planning data is stored in our cloud database and is associated with your authenticated account, allowing you to restore it after signing in on another device. We keep a local device cache on each device to support offline use and fast loading. Signing out or uninstalling removes that device's local cache but does not remove the cloud copy tied to your account.
Your choices and rights
You can update your wedding details at any time in Settings. You can clear Sandra conversation history from the Sandra screen. The Settings screen also includes a Delete Account option that permanently removes your Clerk account, cloud wedding plan, Sandra history, and local cache. You can also sign out, which removes the local cache from that device while keeping your cloud plan available for your next sign-in.

WedZilla uses these third-party services:
- Clerk — authentication (clerk.com/privacy)
- OpenAI — AI features (openai.com/privacy)
- Expo / React Native — app framework (expo.dev/privacy)
Children
WedZilla is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as features change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
